21 unique and skilled fashion designers from all over the world are donating their designs to The Trunk Show.
Each designer was given their choice of eco-friendly fabric, supplied by Pickering International, or locally produced silk from Thailand or Indonesia from which to create their garment. Each designer chose his or her own fabric color, paint palette and style of painting. You see, each elephant has his or her own specific painting style, so a painting by Ging Gaow is going to be much different than one by Sela. Truly amazing.
Once the choices were made, our Creative Team traveled to Asia to oversee the painting of the raw fabric. Once the painting was done, each length of fabric, measuring 5-7 yards each, were handed over to these cutting-edge designers for them to do what they do best. The resulting garments will all be original works of art that can never be duplicated. This collection will be presented on professional models during the runway show and auctioned off at the end of the evening, with all the proceeds going back to help the elephants.
We have already started getting some of the finished pieces back from the designers and each new piece we get takes our breath away. We could not be more excited to see each the designers finished pieces. These garments are truly a miracle of collaboration and vision. The collection as a whole is sure to be spectacular.
