Elephant Art Fashion Show & Auction

New York - On October 17th, the AEACP will launch its first ever auction dedicated to works by international recognized fashion designers, elephants, and artists.  This event will offer collectors one-of-a-kind items by some of the most exciting artists and designers living and working today.  The sale will include garments by MINT Jodi Arnold, Ports 1961, Grey Ant, Stewart + Brown, Tunji Dada, and more.  The price range of the items being auctioned off will range from the hundreds to the thousands.  The majority of garments are still being worked on by the designers, so prices will be set in the coming week.
Among the highlights of the evening, is a hand-crafted Stratocaster-style Guitar that has been donated by our meticulous and soulful friends at DeTemple Guitars www.detempleguitars.com.  Two star elephants, Kam Lai Tong and Ging Gaow painted on this priceless piece.  There is normally a three-year waiting list to get one of these beautiful instruments.  This extra special one can be yours only at The Trunk Show.  Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Peter Gabriel, and Joe Walsh are all proud owners of a DeTemple Guitar.  Now you can be too!

We will make remote auctioning available at the event via telephone, so if you are interested in the Guitar or any other item, but are not able to attend the event, you will still be able to bid at the live auction by telephone.  Please contact us for more information.

The sale will also feature artwork and sketches by artists both human and elephant, most namely, a rare sketch by internationally renowned artist Alexander Melamid.  The piece is of rap mogul, 50 Cent.  The actual artwork was part of the astounding Hip Hop Series painted by Mr. Melamid.  The artist and his landmark collection of works was recently featured in the New York Times

After the runway show, at 8:30pm on Oct. 17th, 2008, AEACP founder and aforementioned artist, Alex Melamid, will hold a very animated and live auction.

The Trunk Show is intended to bring awareness to the plight of the Asian Elephant as well as to raise much-needed funds for elephant conservation.  Asian Elephants are endangered and their numbers are dwindling rapidly.  It is therefore up to us to find positive, healthy ways in which people and elephants can coexist on this planet.  Please help us to do so.
